International Outreach Coming Soon

By Ken Nakata, JD, CIPP/US posted 11-03-2014 18:15

IAAP currently has a lot of Americans.  But so much action is happening around the globe that it's impossible to keep up with it all.  To address this issue, IAAP will be sending out a mailing targeted specifically to its members from the 46 countries others than the United States.  Get ready for some fireworks!

Ken, I just received the "international shout-out" regarding this community. Seems like a good place to be considering I was the W3C's alternate delegate on EITAAC and Canada's alternate delegate on TEITAC. I'm looking forward to future discussions here.
Apologies to those who don't recognize the acronyms (they're practically ancient history now): EITAAC and TEITAC were the committees struck by the US Access Board to advise on development of the original Section 508 standards and the 508/255 refresh, respectively.
TEITAC - Telecommunications and Electronic and Information Technology Advisory Committee (2006-2007)
EITAAC - Electronic and Information Technology Access Advisory Committee (1998-2000)
W3C - c'mon... really?

Ken, that will be great.
It's on my local side of international, but wanted to make sure that people have seen the listing of standards and policies for accessibility across the US States. We worked on this with SSB BART Group earlier this year and posted it on Wikipedia so it could be updated by anyone.

This is good to hear, Ken. Is the goal to use this community group to gather and share what's happening on the public policy front around the world?
